Appearance
The Lined Surgeonfish has a bright yellow body with distinctive horizontal blue lines running the length of its body. It features a compressed, elongated body shape typical of the tang family, with a sharp, retractable venomous spine (scalpel) on each side of the tail base. The dorsal and anal fins are edged in blue and yellow.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, feed high-quality dried seaweed (nori), marine algae sheets, and herbivore-specific pellets multiple times daily. Supplement with frozen vegetable-based foods and ensure constant grazing opportunities on algae-covered rocks.
