Appearance
The Eyestripe Surgeonfish is a large, deep-bodied yellow tang with a distinctive dark eye stripe running horizontally through the eye. The body is predominantly golden-yellow with darker dorsal and anal fins. It has the characteristic sharp spines (scalpel-like) along the caudal peduncle typical of the Acanthuridae family.
Diet and feeding
Feed a varied diet of marine algae, nori, and quality herbivore pellets 2–3 times daily. Supplement with occasional meatier items like spirulina. Ensure adequate algae growing in the tank or provide frequent vegetable matter to maintain digestive health and coloration.

The Eyestripe Surgeonfish is a large, long-lived tang that requires significant space and stable water conditions. It is moderately aggressive toward other tangs and similar-sized fish, and can be destructive to delicate corals and sessile invertebrates in the reef environment.
