Appearance
A stout, deep-bodied fish with bright red and white coloration in prominent horizontal stripes. The head is large and somewhat blunt, with cirri (whisker-like tentacles) above the eyes, and pectoral fins are conspicuously banded.
Diet and feeding
Feed a varied diet of small meaty foods including mysis shrimp, bloodworms, small fish pieces, and quality prepared carnivore pellets. Live copepods and amphipods are beneficial, especially when first introduced.
