Appearance

A moderately sized triggerfish with a distinctive tan to yellowish body heavily marked with fine dark reticulated (crosshatch-like) lines. The dorsal and anal fins display characteristic triggerfish patterns, and the tail is slightly rounded with dark banding.

Diet and feeding

Zooplankton, small crustaceans (such as mysis shrimp), fish fry, and marine algae in both wild and aquarium environments.
