Appearance

Bright red body with numerous small blue spots covering the head, body, and fins. The dorsal, anal, and caudal fins display blue-spotted patterns. Stocky, robust serranid body shape typical of groupers, with a large mouth and moderately sized scales.

Diet and feeding

Carnivorous predator that feeds on small fish and crustaceans. In captivity, provide meaty foods such as frozen-thawed or live small fish, shrimp, and quality carnivore pellets. Feed 1–2 times daily, adjusting portions to avoid overfeeding.
