Appearance
The Blue-Spotted Stingray has a dark brown to grey dorsal surface densely covered with bright blue spots, a white to pale ventral surface, and a flattened disc-shaped body with a venomous spine at the tail base. The blue spotted pattern is its most distinctive identifying feature.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, feed a variety of frozen foods including mysid shrimp, chopped squid, and bloodworms. Feed 2-3 times weekly, as these rays do not require daily feeding and are prone to obesity. Offer a diverse diet to meet nutritional needs.
