Appearance

Blue Blanquillo have an elongated, slightly compressed body with blue-gray coloration and distinctive horizontal white bands running along the sides. They possess a large mouth, pointed snout, and a somewhat cryptic appearance typical of deep-reef dwellers.

Diet and feeding

In captivity, feed a varied carnivorous diet of frozen mysis shrimp, small pieces of fresh or frozen fish, and quality sinking pellets. Feed 1–2 times daily in smaller portions; this species may be a slow feeder and prefers food that settles to the bottom.
