Appearance

Small, compressed body with distinctive vertical black and white stripes running along the sides. Silvery-white coloration with prominent dark bars, and small mouth typical of their planktivorous habit.

Diet and feeding

Feed small, frequent meals of high-quality frozen zooplankton (copepods, rotifers, mysis nauplii) and finely divided dried foods designed for small planktivores. Supplement with quality flake food and occasional live prey to encourage natural feeding behaviors.
