• Minimum 30 gallon tank with moderate to strong water flow; avoid dead spots in placement • Maintain temperature 72–78°F, pH 8.1–8.3, and salinity 1.023–1.025 • Filter-feeder; requires regular feeding of fine particulate foods (phytoplankton, zooplankton, liquid invertebrate foods) • Sensitive to copper treatments, air exposure, and poor water quality; protect from aggressive species • No special lighting required; place in shaded area away from direct intense light
