Appearance
A small, slender wrasse with striking sexual dimorphism. Males display vibrant red-orange coloring on the head and body with bright yellow to orange tail and pectoral fins; females are more subdued orange-yellow overall. Both sexes exhibit the characteristic flasher-wrasse behavior of rapid fin displays.
Diet and feeding
Feeds on small crustaceans and zooplankton in the wild. In captivity, offer frequent small portions of high-quality frozen mysis shrimp, copepods, and quality flake or pellet food designed for small carnivorous fish. Feed 2–3 times daily in small quantities.
