Appearance
Bright blue horizontal stripe runs along the body from snout to tail; head and anterior body are yellow-orange, posterior body and tail are blue-green. Slender, elongated body with pointed snout adapted for picking parasites from other fish.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, feed high-quality frozen foods (mysis shrimp, copepods) and quality flake or pellet food 2–3 times daily. Provide frequent small meals. May struggle to adapt to prepared foods and require live or newly thawed frozen prey; target-feed to ensure adequate intake. Many specimens starve in captivity despite appearing active.
