Appearance

A small, elongated wrasse with vibrant red and white coloration. Males display dramatic red horizontal stripes and bars on the body with white markings, and are known for their rapid "flashing" fin displays during courtship or territorial behavior.

Diet and feeding

Zooplankton, small crustaceans (such as mysis shrimp), marine algae, coral polyps and gorgonians in the wild. In aquariums: brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, marine-based fish foods (flakes, pellets) and seaweed.
