Appearance

A small, slender cardinalfish with bright yellow coloration on the head and upper body, fading to pale yellow or whitish on the belly. Two distinct dark bands run vertically through the eyes and behind the gill covers, with a red iris characteristic of many cardinalfish.

Diet and feeding

Feed small meaty foods such as finely chopped shrimp, mysis shrimp, and other frozen marine foods. Small live copepods and amphipods are also readily accepted. Feed 2–3 times daily in small portions.
