Appearance

Dark brown to blackish body with white or pale spots and reticulated markings. Distinctive white or pale mouth and lips. Elongated, muscular eel body with a pointed snout.

Diet and feeding

Feed small live or frozen marine fish, shrimp, and other meaty foods. Pieces of squid and silversides work well. Feed every 2-3 days; they are ambush predators and do not require frequent feeding.
