Appearance
A moderately-sized butterflyfish with a distinctive yellow body and black striping pattern. Chaetodon declivis displays a characteristic triangular or wedge-shaped dark marking on the anterior portion of the body, and a black eye-band. The dorsal and anal fins are accented with yellow and black banding.
Diet and feeding
Feed a varied diet of high-quality frozen and prepared foods including mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Supplement with quality flake foods and sponge-based preparations. Butterflyfish are primarily carnivorous and benefit from frequent small meals.
