Appearance
Bennett's Butterflyfish is a bright yellow body with black vertical banding across the sides. The face features a distinctive black mask passing through the eye, with white on the gill covers. The dorsal and anal fins are yellow with black bands, and the tail is yellow with black markings.
Diet and feeding
Feed a varied diet of high-quality frozen foods including mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped meaty foods, supplemented with small amounts of vegetable matter or specialized omnivore preparations. Offer food 2–3 times daily in small portions.
Difficulty and care for the Bennett's Butterflyfish
Bennett's Butterflyfish is moderately difficult to maintain. While hardy and colorful, they require stable water conditions, a well-established tank, and a varied diet. They can nip at soft corals and small polyp stony corals, so caution is needed in reef tanks.
