Appearance
A medium-sized butterflyfish with predominantly yellow coloration on the body and fins. Characterized by distinctive white vertical bands or bars across the body and black markings around the eye. The dorsal and anal fins display yellow coloring with black edges, and the caudal fin is primarily yellow with dark banding.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, feed a varied diet of high-quality marine flakes, small frozen foods (mysis shrimp, brine shrimp), and small meaty preparations. Butterflyfish benefit from natural live rock and coral rubble that harbor small crustaceans and copepods, which should supplement their diet.
