Appearance
Males display brilliant iridescent blue and red coloration with elaborate fanlike dorsal fin displays during courtship; females are more subdued red-orange. Both sexes are small, elongated wrasses with distinctive streamlined bodies.
Diet and feeding
Small benthic crustaceans and zooplankton in the wild. In captivity, feed high-quality frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, copepods, and small prepared diets designed for wrasses. Feed 2-3 times daily in small portions.
