Appearance

The Sunrise Hogfish is a small wrasse (Labridae) with a distinctive elongated body. Coloration is predominantly reddish-orange to pink dorsally, fading to white or pale yellow ventrally. The head and anterior body display brighter orange-red tones, with a characteristic color gradient that gave rise to its common name.

Diet and feeding

Feed a varied diet of meaty foods including mysis shrimp, small crustaceans, finely chopped seafood, and quality marine flake or pellet foods. Feed 2–3 times daily in appropriate portions.
