Appearance
The Spotted Toby is a small pufferfish with a distinctive white or pale yellow body covered with dark brown or black spots and reticulated patterns. The body is compact and stocky with a blunt snout, and the dorsal and anal fins are positioned far back on the body. They can inflate their bodies when threatened.
Diet and feeding
Feed a varied diet of small meaty foods including mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and small crustaceans supplemented with vegetable matter. Offer small frequent meals 2-3 times daily to match their natural grazing behavior.

Moderately challenging for hobbyists. Spotted Toby puffers require careful tank mates due to aggressive behavior, are sensitive to poor water quality, and have specialized feeding requirements that demand attention to diet variety and frequency.
