Appearance
Prionurus punctatus is a brown to tan surgeonfish with numerous white or pale spots covering the body and head. It has the characteristic compressed body shape and venomous spine at the tail base typical of Acanthuridae, with white-rimmed eyes and a small mouth adapted for grazing.
Diet and feeding
Feed high-quality marine algae, nori sheets, and spirulina-based foods multiple times daily. Supplement with occasional meaty foods like mysis shrimp. Provide plenty of natural algae growth in the tank or algae-based pellets to sustain grazing behavior.

Moderate - Requires some experience due to specific dietary water or tank requirements. Best suited for intermediate aquarists.
