Appearance

A small, ornate fish with a turquoise-blue base color covered in red-orange spots and reticulated patterns on the head and body. The dorsal fin is prominent and fan-like, and the body is slightly compressed laterally.

Diet and feeding

Feeds on small benthic crustaceans and copepods in the wild. In captivity, requires frequent feeding of live or frozen mysis shrimp, copepods, and amphipods multiple times daily. Dried foods are typically rejected.
