Appearance
The Singular Bannerfish is a striking member of the Chaetodontidae family with a predominantly white body marked by thick black vertical bands and a yellow dorsal fin. The dorsal fin is notably elongated and banner-like, distinguishing this species from congeners. The face is largely white with a black mask across the eyes.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, feed a varied diet of high-quality flake foods, pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, and frozen brine shrimp. Offer small, frequent meals to mimic natural planktivorous feeding behavior in the reef.
Difficulty and care for the Singular Bannerfish
Moderately challenging for most hobbyists. Requires stable water conditions, a well-established reef aquarium, and consistent feeding with appropriate foods. Subject to stress-related illness if tank mates are aggressive.
