Appearance
A small, nocturnal cardinalfish with a compressed body and large eyes adapted for low-light feeding. The body displays seven dark vertical stripes on a reddish or pinkish base coloration. The head is relatively large with a subterminal mouth, and the overall body shape is elongated and streamlined.
Diet and feeding
Feeds on small live foods in the wild including copepods and small crustaceans. In captivity, accept small frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood; may require live foods initially.
