Appearance

A small, round-bodied puffer with distinctive coloration: pale yellowish-white with blue-green spots and bands, and a characteristic dark saddle-shaped marking across the back. The body is compact and inflatable, with small pectoral fins and a rounded head.

Diet and feeding

Feed a varied diet of small crustaceans, mollusk meats, and quality prepared foods. Offer mysis shrimp, small snails, and chopped clams 1-2 times daily. These fish benefit from hard-shelled prey to help wear down continuously growing teeth.
