Appearance

A slender, elongated pipefish with a tubular snout and segmented body. Coloration is typically yellow to tan with distinctive dark brown or black bands encircling the body, giving it a ringed appearance. The body is relatively fragile and the fish moves slowly through seagrass and coral rubble.

Diet and feeding

Feed small live copepods, amphipods, and other zooplankton. Frozen foods like mysis shrimp and copepod roe can supplement live foods. Requires frequent small feedings to maintain health.
