Appearance
Corythoichthys intestinalis is a slender, elongated pipefish with a tubular snout and banded or reticulated coloration pattern along its body. The body typically displays tan, brown, or grayish tones with darker cross-bands or intricate markings. Like all syngnathids, it possesses a prehensile tail and small, inconspicuous fins.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, feed small live or frozen copepods, amphipods, and mysis shrimp multiple times daily. Pipefishes have small mouths and require frequent, small meals. May accept some prepared foods over time but fresh or frozen small crustaceans are preferred.
