Appearance
A slender blenny reaching 5.5 inches, with an elongated body and pointed head. The body is mottled brown to tan with darker bands or blotches and a white or pale belly. The pattern closely mimics the appearance of the cleaner wrasse Labroides dimidiatus, which this species is known to impersonate for predatory purposes.
Diet and feeding
Feed small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, small crustaceans, and quality frozen preparations. Multiple small feedings (1–2 times daily) work best.
