Appearance

Ransonnet's Dottyback is a small, elongated fish with a striking magenta-purple body and brilliant yellow-orange fins. The head and anterior body are deep purple-magenta, contrasting sharply with the bright yellow dorsal, anal, and caudal fins.

Diet and feeding

Feeds on small crustaceans and zooplankton in the wild. In captivity, offer high-quality frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and specialized nano-fish pellets. Feed 2–3 times daily in small portions.
