Appearance

A small wrasse with distinctive coloration: brilliant magenta or pink face and head, transitioning to yellow-green body with a characteristic series of dark vertical bars. Maximum size around 5–5.5 inches.

Diet and feeding

Carnivorous planktivore. Feed a varied diet of finely chopped meaty foods, small frozen copepods, mysis shrimp, and quality flake or pellet foods designed for wrasses. Feed 2–3 times daily in small portions.
