Appearance

The Narrow-Bellied Seahorse is a small, delicate syngnathid with a distinctly slender body trunk and elongated snout. Coloration is typically tan, brown, or yellowish with darker mottling and occasional banding patterns. The species exhibits a pronounced narrow profile compared to other seahorse species, with a prehensile tail and dorsal fin positioned along the back.

Diet and feeding

Feed primarily small live copepods, amphipods, and enriched mysis shrimp. Multiple daily feedings of small portions are essential, as seahorses are slow feeders and may not compete well with faster fish. Frozen foods can supplement but fresh/live foods are preferred.
