Appearance
The Midas Blenny is a small, stocky fish with a golden-yellow to bright orange coloration on the head and body. It features a rounded, blunt head with large eyes positioned high on the skull, and its body tapers posteriorly to a slightly rounded tail. Males often display more vibrant coloring and may develop small tentacle-like cirri above the eyes.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, feed a varied diet of high-quality marine flakes, small pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, and frozen copepods 1-2 times daily. They will also graze on live rock and algae growth, making a mature, well-established aquarium beneficial.
