Appearance

Elongated body with dark brown or blackish coloration and prominent white or cream-colored longitudinal stripes running the length of the body. Possesses venomous spines on the dorsal fin and pectoral fins, and has distinctive barbels around the mouth.

Diet and feeding

Feeds on small crustaceans, small fish, and meaty foods in captivity. Offer chopped shrimp, mysis, bloodworms, and small fish pieces. Nocturnal feeder that typically feeds at night.
