Appearance

The fish has a characteristic elongated snout and relatively large eyes typical of nocturnal cardinalfishes. The dorsal spine is notably long and prominent, giving the species its common name "Longspine."
Diet and feeding
Feed small meaty foods such as finely chopped frozen shrimp, mysis shrimp, and small fish larvae. This species requires live or frozen foods and will not typically accept dry pellets. Feed 1-2 times daily, offering only what can be consumed in a few minutes.
