Appearance
The Longnose Batfish has a flattened, disk-like body with a distinctively elongated snout and small mouth positioned ventrally. It exhibits brown to reddish coloration with darker markings, modified pectoral fins for crawling, and a sedentary bottom-dwelling appearance.
Diet and feeding
Feed small live or frozen foods including copepods, amphipods, small crustaceans, and finely minced meaty foods. Batfish are slow feeders that hunt along the substrate; offer frequent small meals rather than large portions.
