Appearance

Small wrasse with an elongated body displaying vibrant red coloration with distinctive white or pale lineations along the head and body. Males display more intense red coloring and perform characteristic flashing displays with extended fins.

Diet and feeding

Feeds on small crustaceans and zooplankton in the wild. In captivity, offer varied meaty foods including mysis shrimp, copepods, amphipods, and high-quality marine flake foods. Small frequent feedings work best given their active metabolism.
