Appearance
Cirrhilabrus lineatus is a small wrasse with striking coloration featuring bright blue or purple dorsal and anal fins contrasting with red, orange, or yellow body coloring that intensifies during display behavior. Males exhibit more vibrant coloration than females, with distinctive linear markings along the body and a streamlined, laterally compressed body shape typical of the Labridae family.
Diet and feeding
Feed small frozen foods such as mysis shrimp and quality marine carnivore preparations 2–3 times daily. Supplement occasionally with small copepods and other live zooplankton if available.
Difficulty and care for the Lined Fairy Wrasse
Moderately difficult for beginners. While hardy once acclimated, these wrasses are sensitive to water quality, require consistent feeding with live or high-quality frozen foods, and can be skittish if not provided adequate shelter and tank space.
