Quick facts
Appearance
Large-toothed cardinalfish display a reddish-orange body with a streamlined, slightly compressed form typical of the Apogonidae family. Two large, prominent teeth protrude from the lower jaw, giving the species its common name. The dorsal and anal fins are elongated, and the overall coloration deepens in intensity under subdued lighting.
Diet and feeding
Feed small meaty foods including frozen mysis shrimp, frozen copepods, and small prepared marine pellets. Offer food primarily in the evening or at night when cardinalfish are most active. Feed once daily or every other day depending on tank conditions and appetite.
