Appearance

Small damselfish with striking iridescent blue spots and streaks on the head and body against a dark blue-gray background. The dorsal and anal fins are yellow-orange, and the tail is yellow; distinctive electric-blue coloration becomes more vivid with age.

Diet and feeding

Feeds on zooplankton, small crustaceans, and algae in the wild. In captivity, provide high-quality flake food, small pellets, and frozen mysis shrimp or brine shrimp; supplement with marine algae sheets and vegetable matter.
