Appearance
Heniochus varius is a striking white and black butterfly fish with a distinctive elongated dorsal filament extending from the first dorsal spine, giving it a "horned" appearance. The body is predominantly white with bold black vertical bands and a black facial mask, and the dorsal and anal fins are yellow-tipped.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, feed a varied diet of high-quality marine flakes, pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Offer food 2–3 times daily in portions the fish can consume in a few minutes.
