Appearance
A small, vibrant wrasse with a distinctive hooded appearance formed by elongated dorsal fin rays. Males display brilliant blue, orange, and red coloration, while females are typically duller red-orange; the species has a streamlined body characteristic of deep-reef dwellers.
Diet and feeding
Feed small frozen or live foods including copepods, amphipods, mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. This species originates from deep-reef zones where small crustaceans are the primary diet; frequent small feedings (2–3 times daily) work better than large meals.
