Appearance

Yellow-tan body with distinctive dark hexagonal or honeycomb-pattern spots covering the head and body. Small mouth, compressed body shape typical of filefish, and a venomous dorsal spine.

Diet and feeding

Primarily a benthic carnivore feeding on small crustaceans, nudibranchs, sponges, and copepods in the wild. In captivity, offer a varied diet of frozen mysis shrimp, small crustaceans, and quality prepared foods designed for small predatory fish.
