Apolemichthys griffisi has an elongated, oval body, reaching up to 12 cm in length. It exhibits a vibrant blue-green color on its back and sides, contrasted by a white belly. A distinctive black stripe runs vertically along the center of the body. Notably, it features a wide, white band near the caudal fin (tail).
