Appearance

Taenioconger hassi is an elongate, laterally compressed eel with a tan to yellowish body often marked with brown or white bands and spots. The head is relatively small with a terminal mouth, and the dorsal fin extends along most of the body.

Diet and feeding

Feed small live or frozen foods such as copepods, amphipods, mysid shrimp, and small frozen preparations designed for planktivores. These eels forage on tiny crustaceans in their natural sandy habitat and require frequent small meals.
