Appearance

A small, deep-bodied basslet with a predominantly red or burgundy coloration marked by white or pale crescent-shaped bands running across the body. The tail is deeply lunate (crescent-shaped), which is the origin of its common name.

Feed high-quality frozen and live foods including mysis shrimp, copepods, and small crustaceans. Small meaty foods are preferred; offer variety to ensure proper nutrition.
