Appearance
A small, vibrantly colored basslet with a bright red to orange body marked with bold white or pale yellow horizontal stripes. The body is elongate and compressed, with a small mouth and pointed snout typical of the genus.
Diet and feeding
Feeds on small crustaceans and zooplankton in the wild. In captivity, offer frozen mysis shrimp, frozen copepods, and small frozen preparations daily. May accept high-quality small pellets with acclimation.

Moderate - Requires some experience due to specific dietary water or tank requirements. Best suited for intermediate aquarists.
