Appearance

Small serranid with distinctive vertical barring pattern alternating brown and white/cream bands across the body. Rounded body shape with pointed snout and relatively large eye.

Small fish, crustaceans, frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and other meaty foods. May eat small fish and shrimp.
