Appearance
Burgess' Butterflyfish is a striking yellow and white butterflyfish with a distinctive pattern of black bands and markings on the head and body. The body is predominantly bright yellow with a white dorsal region and characteristic black eye stripe and facial markings. It has the typical compressed, disc-shaped body of the butterflyfish family.
Diet and feeding
In captivity, feed a varied omnivorous diet including high-quality marine flakes, small pellets, frozen copepods, mysis shrimp, and small amounts of spirulina-based foods. Feed 2–3 times daily in small portions.
Difficulty and care for the Burgess' Butterflyfish
Moderate difficulty. While generally hardy once acclimated, Burgess' Butterflyfish can be finicky eaters and require stable water conditions, a well-established reef, and peaceful tank mates. Not recommended for beginners.
