Appearance

Small, deepwater anthias with a yellow to orange body and distinctive red/blood-red spots and markings, particularly on the head and dorsal fins. Males are more brightly colored with deeper reds and oranges than females.

Diet and feeding

Feed small frozen or live foods including copepods, amphipods, mysis shrimp, and finely minced meaty preparations. Anthias are planktivores in nature and require frequent small feedings.
