Diet and feeding

Opportunistic feeder consuming small crustaceans, zooplankton, and organic detritus. Rarely needs supplemental feeding in established reef systems with adequate microfauna.

Origin and habitat

Indo-Pacific coral reef regions, primarily found in the Red Sea and Indo-Pacific from East Africa to Indonesia.

• Minimum 20 gallon tank • Maintain temperature 72–78°F and salinity 1.023–1.025 • Requires healthy Acropora colonies as obligate hosts; cannot survive long without them • Feed small amounts of mysis shrimp or small pellets multiple times weekly • Provide excellent water flow and quality; monitor for predatory fish that may consume them
